Most SMEs don’t need enterprise-level sustainability strategies. They need practical documentation and tools that satisfy external stakeholders.

I help Canadian SMEs navigate ESG requirements, questionnaires, and audits quickly and efficiently, reducing the need for expensive consulting engagements or dedicated in-house resources.

I have extensive experience:

  • establishing broader sustainability and climate-related strategies,
  • as well as issue-specific strategies (e.g., sustainable procurement / supply chain, sustainable finance, human rights, …)
  • developing taxonomies (e.g., sustainable finance taxonomy and asset classification systems),
  • developing and conducting ESG benchmarking assessments,
  • conducting (double) materiality assessments,
  • drafting strategies, reports and other documentation in alignment with all the major sustainability frameworks and standards (e.g., IFRS S1, IFRS S2, CSSB CSDS, BSIF B-15, TCFD, GRI, SASB, GHG Protocol, U.N. Principles for Responsible Banking, Modern Slavery Laws, U.N. SDGs, Canada’s Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (FSDS), Quebec’s Government Sustainable Development Strategy 2023–2028, European Union CSRD, ESRS, Taxonomy and related regulations, and more),
  • developing related stakeholder engagement plan (including interviews, surveys, etc.),
  • developing ESG metrics and data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and related databases, and
  • auditing ESG data and operations.

Therefore, if you wish to go a broader sustainability journey and develop material to support the development of a comprehensive strategy, I am equipped to help.

That being said, most SMEs tend to have indirect obligations, which doesn’t always require such work. Their priorities are to satisfy customer, lender, partner and governmental requirements, secure financing, respond to questionnaires, and stay eligible for contracts. To do so, their operations must reflect sustainability principles that match external expectations. The services listed below offer solutions to help you quickly address these requirements:

I bring approximately 10 years of experience in sustainability and sustainable finance, developed across advisory roles, financial institutions, and governance-focused environments. Over the course of my career, I have worked with a wide range of organizations, including financial institutions (banks, insurers, asset managers, lenders, etc.), corporations, government bodies, and NGOs. My work has also spanned numerous industries, including financial services, heavy industries (e.g., mining), transportation (air, land, and maritime), retail, and more, giving me a broad understanding of how sustainability expectations differ across sectors and stakeholders. My background is exceptionally diverse and encompasses all of the services described above. This is partly due to my close involvement in the early development and implementation phases of many major ESG frameworks and regulations, which required quickly translating evolving standards into practical methodologies, assessment tools, and reporting approaches.

A key strength of my work lies in structuring complexity into clear, usable outputs. I regularly translate dense and technical requirements into operational frameworks, assessment methodologies, and decision-ready materials. This includes developing structured analyses, benchmarks, and diagnostics that support both compliance and strategic decision-making.

I also bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, supported by many years of developing and delivering training programs, as well as extensive experience producing high-quality written and presentation materials in both French and English. This includes reports, regulatory disclosures, policy documents, training content, executive presentations, and client-facing deliverables. I am comfortable adapting complex sustainability topics for different audiences, from technical specialists to senior leadership and governance bodies.

Throughout my career, I have managed multiple concurrent projects in fast-evolving environments, often coordinating across internal teams and external stakeholders. This has included developing project frameworks, managing delivery processes, and supporting structured execution through clear documentation and guidance.

I hold a primary educational background in international law, human rights, and geopolitics, as well as multiple professional certifications related to sustainability. For more information, please refer to my LinkedIn profile.
